
MEDF denotes for Micro Enterprise Development Fund. Micro Enterprise Development
Fund (MEDF-Parsa) is a non-profit making organization. The purpose of the fund
is to avail easy approach to enterprise services for informal sector micro
entrepreneurs of this region with their demand by Micro Enterprise Development
Fund (MEDF) through qualified professional Enterprise Service Providers (ESP).
The major stakeholders are Birgunj Chamber of Commerce & Industries (BiCCI),
Helvetas Nepal, District Development Committee (DDC)-Parsa and Birgunj
Sub-Metropolitan City (BSM) and Cottage and Small Industries Office, Parsa as
invited member which is technically backstopping MEDF.
It is functioning in the area of Micro Enterprise Development in order to uplift
the economic status of deprived, disadvantaged, indigenous and religious
minorities' populace (women and men) of Nepal; primarily in the district of
Parsa by helping to increase income and employment opportunities in urban and
rural areas through Enterprise Service Provider (ESP).
Skill Development and Employment in Informal Sector (SEIS) project supported by
the basket fund of above said organization and EU to promote micro enterprise
and employment services at local level. It creates self employment and wages
workers. The training is based on CTEVT/NSTB curriculum.
Skill training in Arc welder in order to supplement industrial Labour in the
market, In that way, MEDF –Parsa has successfully accomplished two events of Arc
welder training Level-1 in year 2011. MEDF also provide life skill training and
Business support training to the same clients who are participant in skill
training.
